Our aim is to work in partnership with parents and carers. We appreciate that effective communication is a crucial factor in ensuring our learners achieve their best and are safe and happy at Broadstone First School. We constantly strive to ensure we keep our families updated and fully informed regarding their child’s learning.

Here are just some of the ways we communicate with you;

Open door policy
We have an “open door” policy in school and you are able to make an appointment to see your child’s teacher at a time to suit you both. This can be done directly with the teacher. Please do not wait for a formal meeting, if you have any concerns or worries or want to know how you can support your child at home then please do not hesitate to make an appointment with your child’s class teacher.

School letters
We send the majority of school letters to parents via email as this is the most efficient and effective way of ensuring safe delivery. Letters are also posted on the school website. Paper copies are available from the school office upon request.

Text message
This is often the quickest method to send information to parents and will usually be used to send reminders or notify the cancellation of an after-school activity. It is therefore essential that you inform us of any change in your contact details.

Snapshots
Snapshots are sent weekly via email, providing information on recent or forthcoming events, celebrating achievements, administration reminders and important dates. They are also accessible on the school website.

Consultations
Book Looks and Parent Consultation evenings are held during the Autumn and Spring Term, providing the opportunity to review how your child is settling in their new school/year and progressing with their learning.

Reports
An interim report is sent out in the Spring Term and detailed reports covering all Early Years/National Curriculum subjects and other aspects of your child’s education are sent out in the Summer Term.

Calendar of events
Please ensure you check our website diary regularly for the latest up-to-date information regarding dates for outcomes and events in school.

Facebook page
We have an official Broadstone First School Facebook page. Please like our page and share it with your friends and family to find out about events and successes of the school.
