IN THE COMING WEEKS
We have been so busy in Year 4 getting stuck into our new topic and we are really enjoying finding out lots of facts about WW2.
Focus for English
We have been writing our evacuee stories and leaflets about tanks in WW2 which the children have really enjoyed getting stuck into! In the next week, we will be using our computer skills to type these up and learning how to save our own work. We will also be designing a front cover and writing a blurb ready for our outcome on the 12th December.
The children have planned their outcome themselves and we know they are all really looking forward to sharing all their knowledge about WW2 with you. They are so excited to read you their WW2 stories over a mince pie (or two) and a glass of spiced apple juice at our war time Christmas. Not only will the children be sharing their knowledge and stories with you, they will also be sharing it with Year 6 children from the Middle School so that they can pass on their knowledge of such an important time in our History.
HOW YOU CAN HELP AT HOME
Share any knowledge you have about WW2 which may help them with their story writing.
Please see below for the Take Away Task.

TAKE AWAY TASK –
DUE 11th December 2017
To support our topic this term we would like the children to find a historic landmark in Poole or the surrounding area which shows ‘our’ part played in WWII. For example, Winston’s outlook, dragon’s teeth, pill boxes or a plaque, such as the one on Poole Quay. The children will deliver a short presentation to the class on their findings. This will be supported by evidence in the form of, for example a power-point, model, poster or photo.
We thank you for your help with this task.
We are working hard on learning our times tables and corresponding division facts this half term. Please support this in any way you can.
